Biography
Blerta Zhegu is born in Tirana (Albania). She started her musical studies in her homeland, accompanied by Nina Mula, to continue her training through several specialisations at the conservatories Claudio Monteverdi” in Bolzano, Italy and
« Darius Milhaud » in Aix en Provence, France.
Thereafter, Blerta has studied with Nathaniel Brodsky (a retired soloist having performed with the Chicago Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in New York). In addition, she participated in Master-classes involving many illustrious singers such as Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci, Bruna Baglioni, Luciana Serra, Monique Zanetti, Claudine Ducret, Donata D'Annunzio Lombardi, Yvonne Minton, Sophie Koch, Jose van Dam, Enzo Tei, Jean Philippe Lafont, Ermonela Jaho, Inva Mula.
Blerta’s professional career began at the Bolzano Municipal Theatre with the role of Lucy in Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Telephone”. In Italy, she embarked on a series of collaborations with the theatres of Sienna, Vicenza, Rovigo and Bolzano. Later on, she played the role of another Lucy in Kurt Weill’s “The Three penny Opera” at the Theater Carlo Goldoni in Livorno, and the Theater of Giglio, Lucca. In home country Albania, she premiered with the role of Adine in Gaetano Donizetti’s “Elisir d’amore” then was the main soprano in “Carmina Burana” and “Midsummer night’s dream” at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. She will follow with other successful collaborations with many other famous conductors such as Michel Plasson, Emmanuel Plasson, Vittorio Parisi, Nathalie Marin, Samuel Jean, Roni Porat, Hugues Reiner, Eddie de Nadai, Emir Omar Saul, Alvise Casellati, Valerio Galli, Gianna Fratta.

In November 2012, Blerta was invited to Quito (Ecuador) as a soloist in Gustav Mahler`s 4th symphony, a performance highly acclaimed by the public.
During 2013-2014, Blerta was one of the CNIPAL (Centre National d’Artistes Lyriques in Marseille) artists. During this time, she performed in many concerts at the Opera of Marseille, Opera of Avignon and Domaine d’O in Montpellier. In France, she also performed in different concerts at the Auditorium Campra, Pavillon Vendome, and Hotel de Ville of Aix en Provence, Hôtel Olivary (Aix en Provence), Temple Grignan (Marseille), Auditorium du Petit Palais, Auditorium de la Cité de La Musique, Theatre le Palace, Hotel Bedford (Paris), BOZAR (Bruxelles), Ambassade de Roumanie (Berlin
In July 2015, she was selected to participate at the International Academy of French Music, organised by the well-known conductor Michel Plasson, a program finalised by a concert in the Domaine du Regismont le Haut.
In June 2016 she took over the role of the Valeria, the protagonist o "Il canto dell'amore trionfante » of Paolo Coletta, in Pristina, Kosovo, a role that she had already performed at the occasion of the world premiere in the Theater Coccia of Novara two years earlier. During 2016 she also performed in several Recital Concerts in the Opera Grand d’Avignon, Hotel d'Olivary in Aix en Provence, Auditorium du Petit Palais in Paris, Auditorium de la Cite de la Musique.
In 2017 she has already a busy agenda with the Festival Lyrique d’Aix en Provence, with the Solistes d’Avignon at the Cabestane Theater (Avignon), with the Festival of Colmar,directed by Vladimir Spivakov as a tribute to Michel Plasson, with her Recital Concert at the Institute Italien de la Culture, Paris, with the well-known Gala "Musique en Fete" the 20 june in Choregie d'Orange .

In 2019 she was Si of "Si " of Mascagni and Musetta of "La boheme" of Puccini in the theaters of Lucca, Livorno and Pisa, Norina of "Don Pasquale of Donizetti in the Philarmonic Theater of Verona and Belinda of "Dido and Aeneas" in The Culture Center , Amphitheaters of El Jem, Oudhna, Kelibia and Sousse in Tunisia.
In the 13th of november 2019 she sung the soloist soprano in the Requiem of G.Verdi, in honour of the victims of the Bataclan at the St. Sulpice Church and in 2020 she was the soloist soprano in two world premieres: the "Requiem" of Bruno Gousset and "La voix des oceans" of Antonio Santana in the Trinite church in Paris.

In 2021 she debuted the countess Almaviva in the "Nozze di Figaro" in the Château d'Harcourt, the Mass in C and et the Requiem of W.A.Mozart.
In 2022 she sung in many Récitals in collaborationwith the pianist Daniel Propper and in 2023 she debuted the role of Leyla ( Pêcheurs de Perles ) in the Opera House of Tashkent.
Blerta Zhegu is the winner of different prizes: 1st Prize in the Arskosova Competition Pristina Kosovo, Special Prize of the Jury in the VI Rassegna Concertistica of Montichiari, Italy and the 3d Prize of the Trofeo la Fenice; Competition of Seravezza, Italy .
